Calling song/stridulation from a male Lesser Grasshopper (Chorthippus mollis) in roadside verge grassland.

A rhythmic/pulsating sequence up to 30 seconds, composed of a repeated two-part echeme consisting of a tick (downstroke of one hind leg) and a rasp (upstroke of one hind leg) produced at 3/sec at ~25°C, slowing in the final three to four seconds. Initially increasing in volume, then decreasing as it slows at the end.
