Calling song/stridulation from a male Mottled Grasshopper (Myrmeleotettix maculatus) in rabbit-grazed grassland behind Marram Grass dune system.

A 12 second series of 0.4 sec soft, buzzes (pulses), increasing in volume before abruptly ending.

Calling song/stridulation from a single captive male Mottled Grasshopper (Myrmeleotettix maculatus) in a terrarium in presence of females.

A 14 second series of 0.3 sec soft, buzzes (pulses), increasing in volume before abruptly ending. (at 20.6°C ambient room temp, in direct sun at max of 31.3°C).

Call from a male Mottled Grasshopper (Myrmeleotettix maculatus) during an interaction with another male in a terrarium. Two 0.25 sec buzzes from one male while the other male moved quickly away. (at 20.6°C ambient room temp, in direct sun at max of 31.3°C).
